NOMADA HOTEL GROUP INTRODUCES ITS NEWEST RETRO-CHIC RESORT IN THE HEART OF CALIFORNIA’S CENTRAL COAST WINE COUNTRY

Paso Robles, California – June 5, 2024 – Known for reinventing once forgotten properties on California’s Central Coast, Nomada Hotel Group welcomes River Lodge – a mid-century modern hotel with a retro-chic twist.

Long recognized for its bright red ‘MOTEL’ sign overlooking the Salinas River, River Lodge features 28 generously sized guest rooms facing a vibrant courtyard with fire pits, lawn games and a 21-and-over pool and hot tub. A full-service Cal-Italian restaurant, ‘Ciao Papi’ sits poolside and offers a menu of signature pizzas, pastas, craft cocktails and more.

Originally established as a motor lodge in 1947, Nomada Hotel Group completely overhauled the property while maintaining its iconic ‘Googie’ architecture of clean lines and 1950s flair. River Lodge is at the base of the Paso Robles wine trail with easy access to downtown and the area’s surrounding wineries.

Founder and Creative Director, Kimberly Walker, shares “River Lodge has been our most ambitious project to date. We underwent a top-to-toe renovation, designed much of the furniture and collaborated with local artists to create bespoke pieces throughout. After 2.5 years, we’ve infused a luxurious and playful spirit into the Motel experience. While the sign and architecture retain the quintessential roadside motel charm, Pierre Frey fabrics and handmade Moroccan tiles help to elevate the experience.”

Kimberly designed select furnishings for River Lodge, such as the El Patron Club Chair, the Brass Stud Velvet Bed and the Rosette Side Table featured in the guest rooms. Most of the pieces are available for purchase on Nomada Deco, her online retail platform offering a curated collection of art, objects, and souvenirs found at all Nomada Hotel Properties.

Published rates start at $209 plus a $25 amenity fee. Nightly rates include daily continental breakfast and on-site parking.
