The Brass Factory to Kick-Off Paso Robles Summer Concerts in the Park Thursday, June 7

Community Participation Booth to be Added for Concert Attendees This Season

PASO ROBLES, CA – The Brass Factory, a central coast band known for their classic R&B sound will kick-off the 2018 summer Concerts in the Park season on Thursday, June 7 at 6 p.m. in City Park in Paso Robles. The eight-piece band comprised of a group of talented musicians are local favorites known for their covers of James Brown, Chicago, the Grass Roots and many more.

Each summer, the Paso Robles REC Foundation and the City of Paso Robles collaborate to host a free concert series on Thursday evenings in the City Park gazebo. Hundreds of locals along with savvy visitors flock to the park for great music, food, drink and dancing in a charming setting. Concerts in the Park will continue weekly on Thursday nights through August 16.

“Our concert series has become a favorite summer tradition among locals and visitors alike,” commented Lynda Plescia, Manager of Recreation Services for the City of Paso Robles. “We are so excited for the fantastic and diverse musical lineup that we have planned this season. There’s no doubt that City Park is the place to be on Thursday evenings this summer!”

J. Lohr wine, Firestone on-tap beer food from Marv’s Original Pizza as well as water and soda will be available for purchase during the June 7 concert. All net proceeds from beverage sales support the Paso Robles REC Foundation whose mission is to enhance parks and recreation in the city of Paso Robles. Food will be available for purchase from a different Paso Robles restaurant during each concert. A free bike valet service for those who want to cycle to the park will be available.

This concert season, the City will introduce a Community Participation booth in the park featuring a different City program or department each week. Community members are invited to offer their input in a new way while meeting the City staff who keep Paso Robles humming. The Paso Robles City Library will be in the Community Participation booth on June 7 with information about “The Great American Read.” Concertgoers who visit the booth will receive a list of America’s 100 most-loved books, spin a wheel to win a prize, find out about the Library’s popular Summer Reading Program and enter to win a “blind date with a book.”
