California Mid-State Fair
The Fair opened in 1946 and was first known as the San Luis Obispo County Fair. The California Mid-State Fair is held annually and runs for 12 days at the end of July. The Fair has hosted some of the biggest names in the music industry. Artists such as Garth Brooks, Aerosmith, Tom Petty, Journey, Rod Stewart, Justin Bieber, Jason Aldean, Blake Shelton and Kenny Chesney have all performed on our Main Grandstand Arena stage.
New this year is the Showcase of Cities, where displays are set up to discover the best of living on the Central Coast! Be sure to vote for your favorite city to take home the Peoples Choice Award! The Mission Marketplace is open for business this year, showcasing twenty-plus artisans and growers who sell locally grown and hand-crafted items. If you’re interested in craft beers, you’re going to get the chance to taste local brews and find out the 2018 Brewmaster of the Year! Located at the north end of the Fairgrounds, the Edna Valley Barn will be home to the always popular pig races and a job fair. The job fair will provide information and opportunities for men and women to find local careers! Be sure to support our livestock exhibitors this year, and last but not least, checkout the new turkey and wether dam doe livestock shows!
