Experience the Lavender Love this Summer in Paso Robles

What smells better than fresh lavender in the summer time? Not a whole lot! You can get more than enough of that soothing smell this summer when Paso Robles hosts its sixth annual Central Coast Lavender Festival in the Downtown City Park on July 12, 2014. This free event will be entertaining attendees from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is sure to be a blast for all who join.

This image from Downtown Paso Robles shows picking fresh lavender has never been so relaxing and fun!

The colorful event celebrates the lavender industry – an emerging local product – and features lavender producers from across the county. My favorite thing about this type of event is that the producers will actually be present in order to give an education on lavender, lavender growing and sustainable farming practices. They will be providing samples of the fine varietals of lavender essential oils and bath and body creations and will also give festival-goers a sneak peek into their hard work. Lavender is a surprising flavor in many different cuisines, and will change your whole outlook on foods like dipping sauces and even ice cream!

An abundance of lavender choices!

There will also be free seminars on distilling lavender, the benefits of lavender, and demonstrations throughout the day in the City Park Gazebo. To get everyone in the mood for fun, there will be music, a special children’s activities area for the little ones, arts, a Lavender Tasting Garden (don’t worry, you will have the opportunity to purchase as you please) and free samples and demonstrations.

Lavender producers striking a pose!

Accompanying the Lavender Festival will be an informal juried arts show where you can see beautiful, original pieces of artwork from local Paso artists. There will also be a variety of food to keep you satisfied as well as festival vendors where you will find anything from lavender spa products to tasty lavender cupcakes and cookies.

If you are a die-hard lavender fan who lines your dresser drawers with lavender sachets or just someone who likes the purple hue of this stunning flower, join us in the Downtown City Park in Paso Robles this July 12, 2014 for some great new experiences with lavender.

This event is FREE so just come and spend the day browsing the beautiful sights and smells of the Central Coast Lavender Festival.
