Cheese Up on Your Way to the Friday Concert
Thursday, June 19, 2014
Our much-beloved summertime Friday Night Concert in the Park series kicks off tomorrow and, lucky for all of us wine lovers, J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines will be on site pouring 5 fantastic wines by the glass. We've managed to get our hands on the list of wines and Danika at Vivant Fine Cheese has recommended a pairing list, because snacks are half the fun of Concerts! Here are her suggestions, you can pick one (or all) up on your way:
Wine: J Lohr Cabernet Sauvignon Cheese: Mezzo Secco, Vella Cheese Co. – California
Wine: J Lohr Merlot Cheese: Valaskaas (2 Year Gouda), Beemster – Holland
Wine: J Lohr Reisling Cheese: Honey Chevre, Montchevre – Wisconsin
Wine: J Lohr Chardonnay Cheese: Holey Cow Baby Swiss, Central Coast Creamery – Paso Robles
Wine: Flume Crossing Estate Sauvignon Blanc Cheese: Marinated Chevre, Alcea Rosea Farm – Templeton
Vivant is now located at 821 Pine Street, roughly a block south of their previous location.
If you're new to our concert series, it's a very fun, relaxed evening with great wine, food and music in the downtown City Park. Bring a low-back lawn chair and find a spot on the grass by the gazebo. The Damon Castillo Band will play their soulful sounds from 5:30-7:00 this week and there will be J. Lohr wines, Firestone Walker beer and food offerings by Berry Hill Bistro for sale. Dancing shoes are optional.
Since proceeds from wine sales go to keep the concert series free and fantastic, you can raise your glass to a good cause and enjoy the experience that much more.
Here's the flyer for the entire Friday Night Concerts in the Park series. Download it, print it, share it.
We'll see you on Friday night!
